Our Mission

Staff members provide all hair services, waxing, makeup and hair treatments in private suites. Completely private hair suites are designed for relaxing while receiving all hair services and are especially appreciated for hair loss consultations. We specialize in Human Hair wigs, clip-in hair pieces, extensions and wearable hair for those who prefer to have a natural head of hair 24/7. 

Our team is certified in many techniques and work with women experiencing alopecia, effluvium and many other conditions where hair is thinning or complete hair loss.

Our Story

Garde Bien opened in 2000; after years of success owner Stacey Handel moved Garde Bien to its current permanent location in 2011. Our boutique setting is perfect for every client to relax and to give our full attention.  We have a commitment of quality and comfort as well as our commitment to community and charity organizations; East Tennessee Children’s Hospital -“Dancing with the Knoxville Stars” and The Susan G. Komen – “Cuts for the Cure” are two we are passionate about.

Our NEW Garde Bien SpaSalon is a collection of experienced professionals offering medi-spa and salon services.  Years of experience does make a difference in the overall quality of service and result.   Owners’ spaces and Garde Bien staff make up the select group of professionals. Each staff member has individual work hours and offer appointments according to their availability.  Scheduling in advance works best to secure an appointment.

Handel’s career spans over 40 years as a top hairstylist and makeover expert.  Her entire career has focused on the betterment of women. Due to the dramatic increase of women experiencing thinning hair, her full-service salon introduced hair replacement services 12 years ago. Her salon provides private consultations, fittings, and Trichology services for women experiencing anything from the beginning stages of thinning hair to complete hair loss. They are the first salon in East Tennessee to offer Tricho-Test and Follicular Cell Analysis to provide a deeper insight into scalp and hair improvement, which can augment a medical diagnosis. Handel and her team specialize in 100% human hair solutions. The CNC is an exclusive hair prosthetic; a custom fit using 3-D technology. “I have a passion for creating beautiful hairstyles for women with compromised hair”.  Handel says. To provide the most beautiful result, the expert stylists cut, style, and add personalized color when desired to allow clients to feel like themselves, especially with hair loss. Handel is a published author and public speaker on solutions for hair loss, a National Educator, and Certified Master with the American Hair Loss Council. Jennilyn is a Stylist at our salon. She is certified in Evolve and Jon Renau alternative hair as well as homecare for all wigs. She has attended American Hair Loss Council, Hair Summit devoted to hair loss and in 2017 The World Trichology Conference. Stylist and began as an assistant to Stacey.  Evolve Certified Stylist and wig specialist offering expert advise thru her own hair loss experiences, Jenn has a compassion for offering solutions and sharing insight to homecare. Certified in Evolve wearable hair as well as C.O.R.E. Advanced Training in Jon Renau hair options. Schedule all hair services with Jenn as well as facial waxing.

First Trichologist in Knoxville, TN and East Tennessee. Trichology is the branch of medicine focused on the study of scalp disorders and diseases and thinning hair and hair loss with solutions of care.

**Garde Bien is now collecting gently used, donated wigs to refurbish and provide to those women who need assistance.

Lauren is the Knoxville Hair and Scalp Clinic’s Office Manager. As Office Manager her exceptional focus to detail is appreciated by our clients and staff. Lauren began her career at Garde Bien Spa Salon, Inc. in 2008.  Lauren has been the Lead MakeUp Artist for “Dancing With the Knoxville Stars” since 2009.
